Pumpkin Lighting - Centennial Elementary 2011

Last night we went to Emma's school for the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Lighting. Emma LOVES her school and it is important to Justin and I that we as a family go to school events like this one to support her and the school. Honestly school is all what you make of it. Emma loves school so much because our family is invested in it, we want to be a part of what she is doing there and we are proud to see what she accomplishes no matter how big or small that might be.

Anyways back to the Pumpkin Lighting. The school had it organized very well. We were able to pre-order a large pizza, drinks, and a family pack of tickets (for the events) a few weeks prior. When we arrived at school the kiddos got a treat bag and then it was time to have some fun! Every classroom was required to create a pumpkin which was on display around the entire courtyard of the school. It was so fun to see the creativity that some classes and teachers put into their pumpkins. Here is Emma sitting by her classroom's pumpkin...

Logan LOVED this pumpkin created by one of the older classes, it was Jack Skeleton from Nightmare Before Christmas.

Along with all the pumpkins we were able to go to the school book fair. Emma and Logan picked out a couple books and we got a book for Emma's teacher. After visiting the book fair we picked up our pizza and ate dinner and watched Spooky Buddies in the multipurpose room. After dinner Emma and Logan decorated pumpkins, made spooky ghost suckers, and we visited the Mad Science Lab, which was created by the 5th graders at the school. Emma and Logan loved dancing and playing on the playground, but the very best thing of all for Emma was seeing her friends from her class.

We truly had a fun family night.
