Emma's 2nd Grade Thanksgiving Celebration & Feast

Emma's class celebrated Thanksgivings by putting on a big performance. All the second grade classes sang 6 Thanksgiving songs for all their parents. After their songs each class invited parents to celebrate with them for a Thanksgiving feast. It is always so much fun to hang out with Emma and her class and especially to be a part of such a fun event.

Emma and Logan's November Projects

This past week Emma had to build a pilgrim house for her Thanksgiving celebration. It was a really fun activity that the whole family got involved in. Emma designed the house, Justin helped build it and glue it together, and we all went hunting for twigs and leaves for the roof. After we constructed the house Emma had to write a paper like she was trying to sell the house.

Logan's class was asked to create a house for his upcoming theme Wild West Winter in school. Logan wanted his horse to look like Captain Rex from Star Wars. So that is what we did. We created a Captain Rex inspired horse with a light saber tail.

A little Thanksgiving picnic...

After two huge Thanksgiving meals we decided that for Thanksgiving night we would chill and have a good old fashioned picnic with lots of yummy finger foods. The kids loved to picnic while watching a Christmas movie to get us in the Christmas spirit.

Logan - "Beary" Special Student

This coming week Logan is the "Beary" Special Student. When you are chosen to be the "beary" special student you are asked to bring your favorite book, movie, and toy to school to show all the other kids. He was also asked to bring something special to him. Logan chose his Angry Bird Star Wars Book, Ninja Turtles Movie, and Star War Storm Trooper to share. For his special item he chose to bring his sportsmanship medal that he earned last week at his flag football game. Along with those items his teacher asked us to fill out 2 pages about him for his scrapbook that she puts together for each child. He is so excited to be the "Beary" Special Student. We are in for a fantastic week!

Logan - Green Eggs and Ham Day

Today was Green Eggs and Ham Day for Logan's class and the other kindergarteners. All the kindergarten classes have been studying Dr. Seuss this month. Dr. Seuss is a great author for beginning readers because his nonsense words are easy to decode, sound out, and read.

I was lucky enough to go and help prepare the green eggs and ham. Logan was not a fan of it. He honestly did not want to try it, which I don't blame him, haha! The other kindergarteners seemed to love it all and many wanted second helpings. After trying the green eggs and ham Logan's class took a vote on whether or not they liked it, Logan voted that he did not! No surprise there. After their green snack all the kindergarteners played for a bit before returning to class. Even though Logan didn't like the food he still had fun and I had a blast being there with him!

Logan Lost His 1st Tooth!

Today Logan lost his first tooth! He has been wiggling it and wiggling it for about two weeks and it finally came out at school today. He said that he had just finished lunch and was walking back to his classroom when we he felt it wiggle free and he spit it out into his hand. His teacher sent him to the nurse who gave him a cool tooth necklace to put his tooth in and he was wearing it when I picked him up today. He is so excited to see what the tooth fairy brings him!

Update: The tooth fairy came that night and Logan got a CARS toothbrush and two dollars. He was so excited and couldn't believe that he didn't hear her come into the house.

...Kindergarten Playdate...

Today was Veteran's Day so the kiddos did not have school. The room mom for Logan's class organized a playdate for Mrs. Motroni's kindergarten class. The playdate gave the kiddos a chance to play together outside of school. The playdate was at our neighborhood park right down the street and Logan was so excited to play with his friends and have Emma and Landon meet them too. It was a really nice morning playing and meeting some of the other moms from Logan's class.
