Happy Halloween - Before School

Happy Halloween Everyone! I just had to post a couple pictures of the kiddos before school started this morning. Emma was a little sad that she couldn't wear her costume to school today, but she cheered up when I showed her the headband that she could wear.

Isn't she the cutest little pumpkin!

Pumpkin Lighting - Centennial Elementary 2011

Last night we went to Emma's school for the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Lighting. Emma LOVES her school and it is important to Justin and I that we as a family go to school events like this one to support her and the school. Honestly school is all what you make of it. Emma loves school so much because our family is invested in it, we want to be a part of what she is doing there and we are proud to see what she accomplishes no matter how big or small that might be.

Anyways back to the Pumpkin Lighting. The school had it organized very well. We were able to pre-order a large pizza, drinks, and a family pack of tickets (for the events) a few weeks prior. When we arrived at school the kiddos got a treat bag and then it was time to have some fun! Every classroom was required to create a pumpkin which was on display around the entire courtyard of the school. It was so fun to see the creativity that some classes and teachers put into their pumpkins. Here is Emma sitting by her classroom's pumpkin...

Logan LOVED this pumpkin created by one of the older classes, it was Jack Skeleton from Nightmare Before Christmas.

Along with all the pumpkins we were able to go to the school book fair. Emma and Logan picked out a couple books and we got a book for Emma's teacher. After visiting the book fair we picked up our pizza and ate dinner and watched Spooky Buddies in the multipurpose room. After dinner Emma and Logan decorated pumpkins, made spooky ghost suckers, and we visited the Mad Science Lab, which was created by the 5th graders at the school. Emma and Logan loved dancing and playing on the playground, but the very best thing of all for Emma was seeing her friends from her class.

We truly had a fun family night.

Kindergarten Fall Festival!

Today I had the opportunity to volunteer in Emma's classroom and be a part of her Fall Festival. I signed up to do the snack station with my good friend Ann. We had so much fun helping the kids create monster caramel apples. The kids in Emma's class created a snack, 2 different crafts, played games, and had story time. It was a fun morning for all the kids.

Waiting for morning announcements.

Recipe of the MONTH - Mini Pizzas

Who doesn't LOVE pizza??? My kiddos love pizza and when you don't want to order out for pizza the next best thing is making your very own. I found this recipe on Pillsbury.com, it is a super easy, inexpensive way to have delicious pizza in a matter of minutes. Plus if you are a coupon clipper (like myself) than you can usually find coupons in your weekly paper for Pillsbury products, which makes the cost of your little pizzas even cheeper!!!

Ingredients:

1 package of Pillsbury Grands Biscuits Flaky Layer (I like the honey ones, they add a sweetness to the pizza.)
1 jar of your favorite pizza marina sauce or pizza zip.
1 bag of mozz cheese
Any topping that you would like on your pizza: pepperoni, sausage, veggies, etc.

Directions:

Spread out each biscuit to the desired size (leave round). Spread your pizza sauce on the top, next cheese, and any toppings you desire. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 14 minutes. Follow package instructions for the length of time to cook.

I hope you try out these delicious pizzas and remember
HAPPINESS IN HOMEMADE!

Fall Crafts

It FALL!!! The weather is finally starting to cool down (mid 90's) and we are finally ready to start making fun fall crafts. I love fall and winter, I love making crafts for these seasons and I especially like making crafts when it involves my kiddos. Yesterday I was feeling in the crafting mood so the kids made some fun fall crafts. They had a blast painting! We made fall handprint trees and spooky foot ghosts!

Logan adding fallen leaves to the bottom of his fall tree.

Emma adding the finishing touches to her fall tree.

For our spooky ghost prints I had the kiddos paint each others foot. They thought this was so fun!!!! You can see in the pictures below both Logan and Emma couldn't stop giggling.

Love the determination on Logan's face.

And here are our Spooky foot ghosts!!!!

This is my fall display in the kitchen! I just love showing off my kiddos work!
