Daddy lets go see airplanes...

Today Emma woke up wanting her daddy to take her to go see airplanes. So Justin being a good daddy that he is took all of us to the Commemorative Air Force Museum to see airplanes. The kids had a good time!

While at the museum Emma wanted to take pictures with my camera. We loved looking at the different pictures she took. Many of them were pretty good and she proved to be quite the photographer. Plus it is so fun to see things through her eyes. Below are just a few pitures she took.

D-backs and Wiggles

On Sunday we took the kids to their very first baseball game. They had a good time watching the game, eating pizza and popcorn, and shopping in the team store. It is always so fun to watch them experience things for the first time. I loved watching them take in all the sights and sounds. After the game The Wiggle had a mini concert. For those of you who don't have kiddos The Wiggle are a children's singing group that sing and dance. Emma loved The Wiggles when she was Logan's age (2 years) now Logan loves The Wiggles. Last time we saw The Wiggles in concert Logan was just a few months old and Emma was 2. It was fun singing with and watching The Wiggles again, Best of All it was a FAMILY FUN DAY!!!!

Emma & Logan's Playroom!!!!

One of my very talented friends is an amazing artist. I found a design that I loved on a piece of scrapbook paper and thought it would make such a fun playroom theme. I asked her to paint it for me and she did. Below are pictures of the playroom. She did an amazing job and the kids and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

Thank you so much Chelsea. I had so much fun hanging with you these three days. It was fun talking and brainstorming with you. Thank you for your talent and friendship!!!!

Recipe of the MONTH - PINA COLADA FROZEN DESSERT

My mom found this delicious, refreshing summer dessert. She sent it to me from the Betty Crocker website and I made it for our small group last night. It was so yummy and our small group of friends described it as "a vacation in your mouth"! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 16 squares)
1/4 cup butter (melted), or canola or soybean oil
1 tbs. sugar
1 quart (4 cups) vanilla no-sugar added, reduced-fat ice cream, slightly softened
1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
2 tsp. rum extract
2 tsp. coconut extract
1/4 cup flaked coconut, toasted*

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350. In small bowl, mix cracker crumbs, butter and sugar. Press into ungreased 8 inch square (2 quarts) glass baking dish. Bake about 10 minutes or until dry. Cool completely, about 1 hour.

2. In large bowl, beat ice cream, pineapple with juice and extracts with electric mixer on low speed just until blended. Spread in baked crust. Freeze about 6 hours or until firm.

3. Remove dessert from freezer about 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle coconut over top.

*To toast coconut, bake uncovered in an ungreased shallow pan in a 350 oven 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.

What are we doing that's fun today?

My lovely daughter has been asking me this question a lot lately, What are we doing that's FUN today (Emma wording)? This summer has been filled with swimming, shopping, playdates, and above everything else NO PLANS!!! I think Emma is getting tired of the summer and our lazy days. Though it has been nice to not have a schedule and to do things when and if we want to, I think she is ready for the school year to start and for all her friends to once again invade our house. So today when she woke up she asked me the same question I have heard for a month now, What are we doing that's fun today? My reply was to take the kids to a place called Bounce Jungle. For those of you who aren't in our area it's a place that has indoor bounce houses (or jumpies). The kids had so much fun bouncing around together, getting sweaty and playing. So here's to a FUN summer day!!!!

Oh and P.S. My kiddos are seriously the sweetest brother and sister combo. I loved watching Emma encourage Logan, Logan hold Emma's hand and go down the slide together, and above all just be sweet friends to one another. I seriously am a LUCKY mom!!!!

Toy Story 3

Today we took Logan to his 1st movie, Toy Story 3. We were so excited to take him because he is a bit obsessed with Buzz Lightyear. We were really surprised that he sat through the entire movie. He had his blanket, popcorn, his sippy cup, and Buzz Lightyear on the big screen. He was a happy Boy!!!

Ladybugs

Yes another one of my girlfriends is pregnant and due very soon. We are actually having a baby shower for her this evening. I wanted to share the cute ladybug quilt that I made for her. Obviously the new baby girl's nursery is a ladybug theme and they haven't picked out a name yet, so I made her a counting quilt. Each ladybug has a corresponding number of dots on it from 1 to 10. So cute and simple!!!

Yesterday we returned home from a super fun and festive 4th of July weekend. Us and a group of our friends all decided to go camping at Woods Canyon Lake (about 30 miles from Payson, AZ) to escape the heat and enjoy the outdoors. The kids had so much fun playing outside with their friends. We also went to Payson's 4th of July parade, we went fishing, and we saw the Payson 4th of July fireworks show. We had so much fun!!!
