The first week in June the entire Chase family: Papa, Nona, Michael, Michelle, Tanner, Conner, Asher, Justin, Me, Emma, Logan, and Baby (in belly) all went to Michigan. Late last year Justin's wonderful grandparent Nanny and Boppa left us and went to heaven. We had a memorial for them here in Arizona, but Nanny and Boppa also had a plot in Michigan that they wanted to be laid to rest in. Their plot was present among many of their Chase family members and located next to the church that Boppa built after a tornado destroyed it. On our first day in Michigan we celebrated the life of Nanny and Boppa once again, heard stories from family members, sang, and had lunch all in memory of them.
Boppa was honored for his time in the military.
We stayed in Michigan for 6 days and enjoyed every minute of it. We were able to see the house that Boppa built for Nanny as a wedding gift. We also saw the house that Justin lived in for three short years. The picture below in the house that Boppa built, we were also able to take a picture in front of it.
One day we went to Lake Michigan and saw one of the lighthouses there as well as played on the beach. Lake Michigan was very cold, but regardless the kids loved playing in the sand and water.

While we stayed in Michigan all of us rented a house together. The first night we stayed in what we called The Yellow House, our kids thought this house was awesome. It was built a long, long, long time ago and our room had stairs in it that they thought were so cool. After the first night we moved into the house right next door located on the same property, we called it The Blue House ( I know original names, haha). The Blue House was much bigger, had a nice large kitchen, a couple family rooms, a pool, front deck, large back yard to play in, and a great view of 3 Mile Lake (the lake we were staying on).

The kids loved playing with their cousins while we were there. Logan and Emma especially loved playing with Asher, they seriously can't wait for their baby brother to come.
Emma and Logan got visit a couple farms, sit on trackers, and ride on a Combine while we were in Michigan.

We enjoyed our trip to Michigan so much! It was bittersweet saying goodbye to Nanny and Boppa, but we were so lucky to go and see all the places we have heard so much about through out the years. The kids had a blast being outside all day long, playing with their cousins, seeing new sights, and just spending quality time together. Justin had so many pictures from our trip (these were just a few) and I hope to make a book out of them for our kids to enjoy for years to come.
