We decided to take a mini-vacation before school starts. Truthfully I just wanted to have some play and beach time before school, busy days, and baby boy were here. We decided to go to San Diego. We stayed for 2 nights at The Del Coronado Hotel. We have stayed here a couple times, but the kids were small and did not remember it. It is such a beautiful hotel full of history. While we were checking in I told the kids to take pictures mainly to keep them busy so we could hear the check-in lady. Here are a few pictures that Emma and Logan took, sorry for the blurry ones.
Logan showing his V.I.K Pass - aka Very Important Kid!
Standing in front of the old elevator. We had to ride this a lot since our room was located on the 5th floor and I'm now 6 and 1/2 months pregnant.
Our room was truly awesome. We got a suite so that Justin and I could sleep on a king bed, the kids used the sofa sleeper. We were hoping to get an ocean view, but when we checked in the lady said that no ocean view rooms were available. To our surprise our room was located above this little secret stairway and had a great view of the ocean!!!! It was awesome, below are a few pictures of our pretty room.
Do you see the ocean?
Our kids favorite thing... a small closet that was in our room, they loved playing with this.
One of the many boats we could see from our room.
We took the elevator up to our room, but we loved taking the old staircase down.
Friday on the beach with our hotel behind us!
The kids putting their feet in the ocean.
Daddy found a live sand dollar on the beach and showed the kiddos it, they thought it was awesome.
There was a man who built this amazing sand castle on the beach, pretty impressive!
The falcons the hotel used to keep sea gulls away from the hotel. The kids thought these were awesome and loved watching them while we ate breakfast each morning.
Saturday we went to the beach and had some fun pool time!!! Logan LOVED the beach. He loved the sand, the waves, the water, sun, everything! Emma wasn't as big of a fan of it. She liked playing in the sand until she got wet and the sand stuck to her, haha.

Saturday night we took the kids on a ferry to Seaport Village for dinner. The kids had so much fun riding on the boat. We ate dinner at Seaport Village, shopped at the toy store and of course pirate store (Logan's favorite) before looking at some different boats parked in the harbor and taking the ferry back to Coronado Island.
Lastly we took the kids on a SURPRISE trip to Legoland!!!! The kids were so sad Sunday morning while we were packing up to leave, they had so much fun at the hotel and wanted to stay longer, little did they know that we had a surprise for them. We love surprising them, it is priceless to see the look on their faces. When we drove up to the Legoland entrance Emma just asked us if we were serious that we were going to Legoland. They then would not stop talking, they wanted to know all the details when we decided, who's idea was it, etc. It was so funny!
We had a blast. About 15 minutes into the park my camera battery died so most of our Legoland pics are from the camera on my phone.
We left and set out to go home at about 6pm. Shortly after getting their pajamas on and getting in the car both our little munchkins were fast asleep...
We had the best mini-vacation weekend!!!
