Today Justin had surgery on his wrist. After months of pain he decided to undergo surgery to hopefully fix the problems he was experiencing. His surgery was suppose to last for 3 1/2 hours but his doctor is very thorough and he ended up being in surgery for 5 1/2 hours. Needless to say it was not fun waiting that long to see him and know he was ok. He had a very hard time coming out of anesthetic, he had to be on his c-pap machine for a long time to regulate his breathing and control his oxygen intake since it kept dipping low. I really do not like surgery, it truly was hard to watch him even though it was just surgery on his wrist.
After the surgery the doctor explained that he had three torn ligaments and a bone spur that caused at least one of the ligaments to become torn. He currently has three pins in his wrist and will have to have extensive physical therapy to get all movement back, but hopefully he will no longer be in pain.
