Crazy Hair or Super Cute Hair?

Last week was spirit week again and of course there was a crazy hair day. This spirit day happens to be Emma's favorite day to participate. We decided to put her wet hair in a bunch of sponge rollers and let it dry overnight. When she woke up the next morning she had super curly hair. I thought it would look really crazy, but it actually turned out super cute. She loved having super curly hair and it was really fun to do.

Kindergarten Valentine Bags

It was super fun to make valentine bags for Emma's class this year. Emma really wanted to have a hand in creating them which of course I LOVE so she pretty much did everything from filling them to decorating them and writing her name on all 25 of them. We bought a note pad, suckers, and Nerds (one of Emma's favorite candies) for all the bags. I think they came out super cute and best of all they were totally kid done!

Remodeled Playhouse

We bought our playhouse 3 years ago from Costco. My kids and my preschooler have loved playing with the playhouse but because of the Arizona sun and heat it has weathered big time. A few weeks ago we decided to remodel it as a family. We all had a hand in painting it and it was such a fun family activity. I documented the stages. Emma loved painting it a little more than Logan. Logan really enjoyed spending the day outside playing in the back yard.

Finally an update!

WE HAVE BEEN INCREDIBLY BUSY!!!! In January I celebrated turning 30 with a fabulous surprise party (unfortunately we don't have pictures from it), then we went to visit my grandma in Kansas and ever since then we have been so busy. The kids have been doing school, dance, and are about to start soccer. Justin has been working and continues to play at church 2 to 3 times a month. I have been doing the preschool, helping in Emma's classroom, and I just recently got a job with our church as the curriculum manager. As a way of hopefully catching our blog up I am going to be posting a few pictures of things that happened last month... hope you enjoy!

At the end of January we went to see Toy Story 3 on Ice. Our kiddos LOVE Disney on Ice productions and so when ever they are in town we have to go. For Toy Story we went with my mom and had so much fun sitting in the front row waving to Buzz, Woody, and the whole gang!

A New Beginning

I wish I could say that Emma's kindergarten year has been seamless and wonderful, but that has not been the case. Right before Christmas vacation we found out that Emma's teacher Mrs. Holck would not be returning. We were shocked! Emma's teacher was pregnant and from what she had been telling us was planning on returning after she had her baby. When we heard that she wouldn't been returning many rumors started to spread and we still don't know the exact truth, but Centennial brought in a new teacher. Her name is Ms. Tanner and is super sweet. This is her first class and just recently graduated from ASU. Ms. Tanner completely redecorated the classroom in a jungle theme that all the kiddos love! Last night we went to ANOTHER Meet the Teacher Night. Emma was super excited to show me where she sits and all the fun things they are doing now. I am excited for her and the new environment that she is in. I hope to post more fun things that she does the rest of this year!

Introducing...

Princess Millie, or just Millie. She is a 11 week old Bichon- Miniature Poo mix. Yes we are crazy people who bought a dog the day we got back from Wichita, Kansas (pictures of that to come). We have been thinking a while about getting another dog. I found the Bichon breed and liked them because they don't shed and are suppose to be good if you have allergies which Emma and Justin both have. Plus Bichon's are a good little dog if you have kids. Since she is a poodle mix the vet said she will learn quickly, I hope he is right. She is the smallest little thing weighing in at a whopping 2 pounds!!!! She loves to play, snuggle in her little bed, and cuddle. She is doing pretty good with potty training, I have been watching her like a hawk! The kids are getting used to her and her little bark. We just think she is the cutest thing!

What did the New Year bring?

With the new year came another loose tooth. Emma lost her second tooth a couple nights ago. For the second time her adult tooth has pushed her baby tooth out. It is so funny when she looses her tooth because she practically has another tooth in it's place, she doesn't have that vacancy like most kiddos do. She did a great job letting Daddy take it out of her mouth this time. The next morning she woke up to 4 quarters from the tooth fairy! Last tooth she got 2 quarters and a tooth brush, this time the tooth fairy paid more!
