Emma's Summer Dance Recital - Before and After

Last night was Emma's summer dance recital. She was so excited to rock the stage in not 1, not 2, but 6 NUMBERS!!!!! She performed in the opening, her trio, her group #1, a tap number, her solo, and group #2. There was a lot of wardrobe changes and a lot of excited going on backstage, and she loved every minute of it. We are so happy that she has found something she loves to do and that she has wonderful friends to do it with. She was amazing and we couldn't be more proud of her!!!!!

Landon's 1st Haircut!

Landon got his first haircut at 20 months old. He honestly didn't have a ton of hair but we noticed that he likes to pull it when he was tired or upset. He pulled his hair so much that he was starting to leave sores on his head so we decided to buzz cut it so he wouldn't be able to grab it anymore. He did a great job for his first haircut. He really loved the bubbles and the sucker he got when it was all done.

Landon's 20 month check up

Landon had his 20 month check up today. He is growing well, still on the small side. His weight was 22 lbs. 14 oz. 10 percentile, height was 33 1/4 inches 70 percentile, and his head was 18 3/4 inches 40 percentile. Developmentally he is doing everything a 18-24 month old should be doing. He loves to play, talk, dance, run, and just be active.

He is talking all the time and repeats a lot of what you are saying. He taps you to get your attention and loves to tell you stories even if you don't understand them. His favorite toys right now are Matchbox cars, CARS figurines, and trains. He is play at the train table for hours. He loves playing with his brother and sister, hide and go seek is his favorite. He will jump out at you and say Boo! He loves to laugh and can be opinionated when he wants to be.

While we were at his check up the doctor heard a heart murmur. She suggested that we take Landon into a children's cardiologist to have it further looked at. His appointment has been scheduled for the first week in July. Overall we are just in awww of our sweet baby boy. He amazes us and makes us laugh all the time. We just love him!

Summer Journaling

Even though the kids have a break from school we are still working hard. The kids have been keeping a summer journal that they write in 2-3 times a week. After writing in their journal they share what they wrote. It has been a really fun activity for them and me too, I love to hear their stories.

Also we moved the train table that was in Logan's room out to the family room and Landon has been having a blast with it. He loves trains and cars right now. I love watching the kids play together!

Summer Swim Lessons

We love to stay busy in this house. Emma has been working hard this week preparing for her dance recital and Logan has been participating in a summer sports camp. Not only have they been busy doing those things but I enrolled the kiddos in swim lesson in the evenings. Logan is in Level 1, Emma is in Level 3, and Landon is doing a mommy and me class. It has been a fun evening activity for all of us.

Vacation Bible School

It's VBS week! Emma and Logan have been looking forward to vacation bible school and this year the theme was Jungle Safari. Cornerstone always puts together the best VBS program, the kids love and look forward to each day. They had a blast being paired in the same group, they were the Green Crocodiles. It was truly a blessed week!

Mesa Historical Museum

It's summer time and that means visiting some of our favorite spots. The Mesa Historical Museum aka the Dinosaur Museum is one of our favorite places. Emma, Logan, and Landon had a blast looking at the dinosaur bones, doing different experiments, mining for gold, and so much more. It was Landon's first time getting to really enjoy the museum before his was a lot littler and slept pretty much the whole time. This time was so different, he was pointing and talking, he really had fun!
